The July 12, 2025 Hailstorm in the East Mountains
On July 12, 2025, independent storm data showed hail up to 1.75" moving through Cedar Crest, Zuzax, and Edgewood, across an area with an estimated 7,709 homes. Hail bruising often can't be seen from the ground, so if your home was in the marked area and no one has been up on your roof since, a free roof report will tell you what condition it's in today.

The July 2025 Storm Track Over the East Mountains
Map data via independent storm-verification service. Being inside the shaded area doesn't guarantee damage, and being just outside it doesn't rule it out. A roof-level look is the only way to know for sure.
What a Free Roof Report Gets You
An On-Site Inspection
We get up on the roof and look for actual hail hits instead of judging it from the driveway.
A Written, House-Specific Report
Photos and documentation of what we find, so you have something concrete before you talk to your insurer.
Free, and Up to You
If there's nothing storm-related to report, we'll tell you that plainly. Finding out is free either way.
Insurance Questions? Start With a Clear Record
If our inspection turns up storm damage, your Free Roof Report gives you dated photos and a written description of what we found, which you can keep for your records or share with your insurance agent. Whether to file a claim is your decision. For background, see our hail damage page, insurance claims guide and New Mexico-specific filing guide. If a claim is ever denied or underpaid, our escalation path guide covers your options.
If your roof needs replacing after the storm, we install complete GAF systems as a GAF Certified contractor, including Class 4 impact-rated GAF shingle options for homes that see repeat hail.
Before You Sign Anything
Timberwolf Construction is a licensed New Mexico general contractor, NM Lic. #426379 · GB-98. We're not a public adjuster, insurance company, or law firm. We don't guarantee that any insurance claim will be approved, and a free roof report is an assessment of your roof's condition, not legal or insurance advice or a promise of coverage. The decision to file a claim, and its outcome, rests with you and your insurer.
Be careful with any contractor who offers to waive, absorb or cover your deductible. Treat it as a warning sign. Verify any contractor's license before signing anything, including ours. Read more in our New Mexico Consumer Protections guide.
Common Questions
How do I know if my roof has hail damage?
The only reliable way to know is to have someone look at the roof directly. Hail damage isn't always visible from the ground, and bruised shingles, granule loss and soft spots often only show up on a close inspection. Being inside the mapped storm area raises the odds, but it doesn't confirm damage.
Is the free roof report really free, with no obligation?
Yes. We inspect the roof and give you a written answer, whether that's storm damage worth documenting or normal wear that insurance won't cover. There's no cost and no requirement to hire us afterward.
Will filing a claim raise my insurance rates?
That depends on your insurer and your claims history, and it's a fair question to ask your agent directly before filing. What we can tell you is whether the damage looks storm-related and claim-worthy in the first place, which is usually the more useful first step.
What if I'm just outside the shaded area on the map?
Storm swaths aren't perfectly precise, and hail can cause isolated damage outside the heaviest-hit core. If you're near the mapped area and have concerns, it's worth getting a free inspection rather than assuming you're in the clear.
