Window Replacement in Stucco Homes in Albuquerque
Climate Solutions windows plus the stucco around them: cut-back, patch and color match handled by one licensed New Mexico contractor, not two trades pointing at each other.
In a stucco home, a window swap is also a wall repair
Most Albuquerque homes are stucco over frame, block or adobe. Stucco is a hard shell bonded to the wall, with metal lath and a weather barrier behind it. Replace a window the wrong way and you are left with cracked stucco, a visible patch, or a leak path behind the finish.
Window companies install windows. Stucco companies patch walls. Timberwolf does both, so the opening is planned, installed and finished as one job. Read our full guide to replacing windows in a stucco home for the details.
Insert or full-frame: we pick the right one for each opening
Insert (retrofit) replacement: the stucco stays
The new window fits inside the old frame. Nothing is cut, nothing needs color matching, and the house is never open to the weather. It is the common method when the existing frames are sound and square.
Full-frame replacement: we rebuild the opening
The old window comes out down to the rough opening, the stucco is cut back, and the lath, weather barrier and stucco are rebuilt around the new window. It is the right call for rotted or out-of-square frames, past leaks, or when you want more glass. Our stucco crew finishes the patch and matches it from our 48-color chart.

Stucco Home Window Replacement FAQ
Will replacing my windows crack the stucco?
Not with an insert (retrofit) install: the new window fits inside the old frame and the stucco is never cut. A full-frame replacement does cut the stucco back around the opening; on those jobs Timberwolf rebuilds the lath, weather barrier and stucco and finishes the patch, so you are not left with an open wall or a second contractor.
Can you match my existing stucco color?
We patch from our 48-color stucco chart and match texture to the wall. On older, sun-faded walls a fresh patch can still read lighter, so we will tell you up front if re-coating the wall would give a cleaner result.
Should I choose insert or full-frame replacement?
Insert is the common choice when the old frames are sound and square, and it leaves the stucco untouched. Full-frame is the better call when a frame is rotted, out of square, has a history of leaks, or you want more glass area. We check each opening during the free in-home measurement.
Do you replace doors in stucco walls too?
Yes. We install Climate Solutions sliding patio doors and tilt and turn doors and finish the stucco around the new opening the same way.
What areas do you serve?
Albuquerque and the surrounding metro, including Rio Rancho, Corrales, Bernalillo, Placitas, Los Ranchos, Los Lunas, Bosque Farms, Edgewood and the East Mountains.
