Step 2 · Know what you are buying
How a Climate Solutions window is built
Most window brochures talk about glass. The reason these windows hold their rating in Albuquerque's sun and 24° daily temperature swings is what is in the frame. Here is every piece, in plain English.
4-corner fusion welded
Frame and sash corners are melted together at a controlled temperature instead of screwed. One continuous piece, no seam for water or air to find. Exceeds residential structural testing requirements.
CS Ultra Spacer™, dual seal, no metal
The spacer is what holds the two panes apart. This one is closed-cell polymer foam with two seals and no metal, so the edge of the glass stays warmer, resists condensation and mold, and is rated to last up to five times longer than single-seal spacers.
12-layer ClimaPlus 3 low-E glass
Twelve coatings on the glass control solar heat and block fade-causing UV while keeping high visibility. Argon or krypton gas between the panes.
Low-profile sloped sill
A multi-chamber I-beam sill with an interlocking dam. Water that hits the sill drains out instead of pooling against the sash. Less visible frame, more glass.
Thermal reinforcement (option)
Bio-based reinforcement inside the meeting rail in place of aluminum. Same stiffness for large windows, but it insulates about 700 times better than aluminum, so it does not become a cold bridge.
Bio Foam insulated frame (option)
The hollow frame chambers are filled with USDA-certified soy-based foam. Quieter, warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and it lowers the window's U-factor for better insulation.
Tilt-in sashes
Both sashes on a double hung tilt into the room, so second-story glass gets cleaned from inside. Sliders use a lift-out sash with an anti-break-in catch.
Pressure-gasket bulb seal
On casement and awning windows the wind pushes the sash tighter against a continuous bulb seal, so the harder it blows, the tighter the window gets.
Multi-point locking
One handle throws locks at several points around the sash. It pulls the sash evenly into the seal for a tighter window and makes prying it from outside impractical.
Fold-away crank handle
Casement and awning handles fold flat so blinds and shades sit flush against the frame.
Self-lubricating brass rollers
US-made, rust-resistant brass rollers carry the slider sash, so it still glides with one finger years later.
Blinds between the glass (option)
Blinds sealed inside the insulated unit. They never collect dust, never tangle, and never need cleaning.
100% pure virgin vinyl, 0% plastic fillers
Recycled vinyl and filler blends dry out and chalk under New Mexico UV, then warp or crack. Every Climate Solutions frame is extruded from virgin vinyl, which is why the color and shape hold for the life of the warranty.

Bay, bow and garden windows
Built like furniture, because you sit on them
Bay and bow units are a window and a piece of structure at the same time. These are the parts that keep them square and warm for decades.
Solid hardwood frame
Oak or birch hardwood-veneer plywood, 67% thicker than the common 3/4" design, hand-selected at the mill. Pre-finished in White, Almond, Light Oak, Dark Oak, Colonial Cherry, Maple or Natural.
Timberstrand® laminated mullions
The vertical posts between the windows are laminated lumber, 25% stronger than solid wood and they will not warp or twist like ponderosa pine. Lag-bolted to the head and seat.
R-9 triple-layer insulated seat
A 1" high-density polyisocyanurate foam core (Dow Tuff-R) between two hardwood layers. The seat is warm to sit on in January and does not sweat in July.
Turn-buckled cable support
Steel cables with 6" eye-hook lag bolts tie the head of the unit back into the house framing, so the seat is strong enough to actually be a seat.
Garden window glass shelf
3/16" tempered glass shelf on units to 50" wide, trapezoid side vents on stainless hinges, and the same R-9 seat.

Albuquerque gets more direct UV exposure and wider daily temperature swings than most of the country, which is the same reason roofs age faster here. Standard clear glass lets that heat and UV straight through, fading floors and furniture and driving up cooling bills.

European Tilt & Turn Door
One handle, three positions. Turn it down and the door seals hermetically with continuous double weatherstripping. Turn it up and the top tilts in up to 4″ for secure, ventilated airflow without opening the door. Turn it further and the entire sash swings open on nearly invisible hinges for full walk-through access.

Perimeter multi-point lock
Turning the handle down throws locks around the whole perimeter. Hermetically sealed: no air leakage, no way in from outside.
Invisible hinges, steel-reinforced
Hinges are hidden in the frame for a clean look; optional visible hinges open nearly 180°. Steel reinforcement in frame and sash allows oversized doors.
Tilt 4" or swing open
Handle up tilts the top in 4" (130 mm) for secure, child-safe venting even in rain. Handle sideways swings it fully open.

Stucco homes
Window replacement in stucco homes: windows and wall finished as one job
Most Albuquerque homes are stucco over frame, block or adobe. Stucco is a hard shell bonded to the wall, with metal lath and a weather barrier behind it. Replace a window the wrong way and you are left with cracked stucco, a visible patch, or a leak path behind the finish. Window companies install windows. Stucco companies patch walls. Timberwolf does both, so each opening is planned, installed and finished as one job.
Insert (retrofit) replacement: the new window fits inside the old frame, so the stucco stays. It's the common method when the existing frames are sound and square. Full-frame replacement: the old window comes out down to the rough opening, the stucco is cut back, and the lath, weather barrier and stucco are rebuilt around the new window. It's the right call for rotted or out-of-square frames, past leaks, or when you want more glass.

No. Climate Solutions is a separate, Chicago-based manufacturer that Timberwolf became an authorized dealer for specifically to offer windows and doors. It's a distinct product line from our GAF and Enviroshake roofing materials.
Who actually installs the windows?
Timberwolf manages your project from quote through completion. On-site installation is performed by our fully vetted, contracted installation team, working under Timberwolf's oversight and warranty.
Does the 8100 Series come in colors other than white?
Yes. Climate Solutions offers a range of standard interior and exterior colors, plus a Premium Color Match program that can match almost any exterior color you want. Ask your Timberwolf estimator for current swatch options.
Do you install entry or patio doors too?
